Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST)

BCST

BCST is a healing therapy that combines a scientific understanding of the body with mindfulness and gentle, light touch that has its roots in osteopathic cranial concepts and skills as discovered by Dr William Sutherland (DO) in late 1800s – early 1900s. This was extended through the work of Dr Rollin Becker (DO) which laid the foundations of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy.

A core principle of BCST is that health and wellbeing is inherent in the body along with the intrinsic ability to heal from disease, illness, pain, fear, anxiety, trauma or discomfort. Challenges or disturbances to health and wellbeing can be held in the energy dynamics of the body along with the physical structure. The essence of the therapeutic process works with the person’s Breath of Life to return the body to a greater relationship to its inherent health. The Breath of Life principle is the innate capacity of the individual to express life physically, mentally, emotionally and philosophically (Dr Becker). The therapist will facilitate a safe and supported session that allows you to feel calm, rested, greater vitality and a sense of wellbeing.
